Generally, the information in the Library is limited to equipment that was made prior to 1980.

The wiring diagram for a master LJU socket is shown here. Note that the pictorial view shown above only serves to indicate the two differing types of sockets and wiring connections. Contrary to how it might seem, C1 is connected to terminals 2 & 3, not 1 & 4.

Keep in mind that the colors of the telephone wiring in your home will be typically one of two types or insulation colors. First of all, look for and gather one telephone handset (ofcourse with its coiled-cord) from a discarded telephone. Next, ensure that mouthpiece (microphone) and earpiece (speaker) mounted inside the handle are in working condition, and keep an eye on its wiring.
