I almost always goof up on these things and figured I'd prop the bar the wrong way so instead I used an old accessory belt to hold the harmonic balancer in place while using a breaker bar to loosen the bolt. I took off the alternator in order to find a good anchor point for the socket wrench I used as a holder for the belt.
