Lesson Plan - Science Safety is Elementary - Grade Three
The purpose of this lesson is to initiate discussion about science safety and to identify and apply basic science safety procedures. Children will decide which of their five senses would need to be protected in different situations (personal safety) and identify precautions necessary to avoid hazards in the classroom (classroom safety).

Using Rally Coach, shoulder partners take turns answering safety rule questions and come to a consensus. Complete one question at a time so the class can discuss the correct answer. Using a selector tool, select from all A’s or B’s and then have a student uncover the correct answer (one at a time, after class discussion) on the SMART Board to complete the guided notes.
