RECEPTACLE WIRING PARALLEL VS SERIES WIRING
Electrical Receptacle Wiring in Parallel vs Daisy-Chained
Here we compare wiring an electrical receptacle in series or "daisy chained" (the most-common practice) with wiring receptacles in parallel on an electrical circuit. Wiring in parallel gives greater reliability to the devices on the electrical circuit, but larger electrical boxes and more wiring connections are required.
Wiring: series vs. parallel - Fine Homebuilding
Again, if by parallel or series you mean pigtail or sidescrew, its up to you. I think most prefer pigtailing. You can remove the receptacle without affecting other downstream receptacles (this is probably where you got the series vs. parallel idea). But it is perfectly fine to use the side screws instead of pigtailing. Question #3:

One connection is always better than two, and a wirenut connection is no better than the dual screw connections on a duplex receptacle (never put 2 hooked wires under one screw though). The other part of that is, if you can't fold 4 or 5 wires each 6 or more inches long connected to a duplex receptacle neatly into a normal size wallcase, you probably shouldn't be doing this kind work.
SERIES & PARALLEL SPEAKER WIRING - HomeToys
The formular for Series Wiring is: Znet=Z1+Z2+Z3. PARALLEL SPEAKER WIRING. Parallel circuits are the simplest electrical circuit to wire. Adding Speakers in parallel decreases the overall resistance of the circuit. Parallel Speaker Wiring combines all Speakers (+) positive Speaker leads together, and all (-) negative Speaker leads together.
