If your rectifier tests good then keeping it out of circuit install a fuse and see if it blows when you turn it on. If so - then you probably have either a bad transformer or a short circuit on the circuit board the transformer directly connects to. Caps need to be tested out of circuit unless you have a tester that can test in circuit.

Main fuse (30 amp) keeps blowing Looking at the schematic in my Clymer manual it appears that when you turn the key on it connects the fused 30 amp circuit to the kill switch which connects directly (W/R wire). No fuse! The shop manual shows the battery power goes through the 30 amp fuse before it goes to the common side of the main
