4. The black wire coming out of the brake controller is the brake controller power supply. Route this wire to a 20-amp (or 30-amp) breaker under the hood and then to the positive post on the battery. There are now two wires connected to the positive post: the 12 volt hot lead and the brake controller power supply.

The thicker wire is usually going to be your power supply. So that would go to black, the 12 volt power supply wire on the brake controller. Then you have the two wires left, the green and the brown. The green is labeled STOP LAMP, so that will go to the stop lamp circuit on

Please note the 5th pin is not as standard as the first 4. Be careful when using a 5-pin connector. Be sure the car wires match functions of the trailer. On the vehicle side, for electric brakes the blue wire goes to the brake controller. Many styles of brake controllers are available, so find one that works for your vehicle.
